Growing up living next to my grandparents, I often walked to their house and painted with my grandmother. She was an avid watercolor painter and as I grew up she improved a lot. Since she was a chemistry teacher at an all-boys school, she was always patient, and kind, and made everything fun. We started with watercolors, but once I got into high school we began to paint more with acrylics. I preferred acrylics, but she still loved her watercolors.
Once I got into college and lived away from home I would often call my grandmother and chat for hours. She would listen to me talk about each of my classes and ask me about my grades and the art that I was doing. She was always so encouraging and pushing me to keep up with art. I am so incredibly grateful to have been able to spend so much time in my life with my grandmother.
